Confederate Foot Officer Sword with original leather & wire grip. This Confederate Foot Officer Sword has some visible etching. The full-length blade has a "Tennessee" style ricasso. Grip has twisted wire like a Leech & Rigdon but could be a James Conning made sword. There were some parts swapping especially with Tennessee falling so quick to the invading Feds. This Confederate Foot Officer Sword was presented to someone. At some point after the War the name and my guess "CSA" was purposely removed from the blade. Maybe the owner feared big government retaliation for their service. Enjoy the images of this really nice Confederate Foot Officer Sword.
