The patina is knee deep and the original wood stock shows the wear of being on the Wild West. The patina is beautiful as is the weathered stock. The original picker did lightly clean off the maker mark area and serial number area. This Big Bore Lever Gun is an excellent example of an American Wild West Carbine. This Model 1873 Winchester Carbine is a beautiful portrait of an American Wild West Firearm. This Winchester could have been on cattle drives, leading the Western Expansion, and finally someone lost their hair. The condition really does lend itself to being carried all day and being out in the elements. One screw was put in the butt plate to secure it. Other than that it is all original and ready for display.
